New Trier Township has the good fortune to have boundaries that include four different state legislative districts, two state senatorial districts and two U.S. Congressional Districts. This means that we are represented by, and our voices have an impact on, six members of the State legislature and two members of Congress.
Wilmette, (pop. 27,600+) is the village with the most New Trier registered voters and precincts -- 25. Spanning two congressional districts, Wilmette is the only New Trier community that has two U.S. Representatives, Jan Schakowsky D. 9th Cong. Dist., and Mark Kirk R. 10th Cong. Dist. Wilmette also spans two state legislative districts, the 17th, Beth Coulson R., and the 18th, Robyn Gabel D. One state senatorial district, the 9th covers all of Wilmette and is represented by State Senator Jeff Schoenberg.
Winnetka (pop.12,400+) has 12 precincts and spans two state legislative districts, the 17th, Beth Coulson R., and the 18th, Robyn Gabel D. One state senatorial district, the 9th covers all of Winnetka and is represented by State Senator Jeff Schoenberg. The village is presently represented in Congress by Mark Kirk R. 10th Cong. Dist.
Glencoe (pop. 8,700+) has 9 precincts and spans three state legislative districts, with 7 1/2 precincts in the 58th, Karen May D., 1/2 precinct (part of pct 7) in the 18th, Robyn Gabel D., and 1 precinct (pct. 6) in the 17th, Beth Coulson R. The village also spans two senatorial districts with 7 1/2 precincts in the 29th district represented by State Senator Susan Garrett and 1 1/2 precincts in the 9th district represented by State Senator Jeff Schoenberg. Mark Kirk is presently the U.S. Congressman for the 10th Cong.

Kenilworth (pop. 2,500+) is the smallest village completely within New Trier Township. The community houses the New Trier Republican Party headquarters. The village has 2 precincts. Kenilworth is presently represented in Congress by Mark Kirk R. 10th Cong. Dist. and in the Illinois House by Robyn Gabel D. 18th Legis. Dist. Kenilworth's state senator is Jeff Schoenberg, 9th State Senate Dist.
